I was the lead Mechanism Designer while at PieceMaker Technologies.
I designed and prototyped new articulated mechanisms that can be 3D printed without support material, allowing PieceMaker to launch a line of articulated joints. This process involved interdisciplinary collaboration, and rapid prototyping iterations for proof-of-concept models.
I created a new product lines that were launched nationwide; these lines were in PieceMaker’s top five best sellers. Each product was customizable - allowing customers to add unique designsand phrases inset into their designs.
I met onsite with clients to oversee development and deployment of these products, and to ensure that new deigns met site-specific aesthetic and functional needs.
I experimented with internal honeycomb geometry and product layout on printer-bed to achieve the lowest possible printing speed for each new printer configuration. No print took more than thirty minutes to print to completion, and all designs were fully articulatable immediately after printing, without any assembly required.
